 CONS

Cons:
When staying at a property that is rated so highly in Dallas Tx, it becomes difficult to find many below-average reviews. Most of the reviews are 5-star rated but some guests do not come away with the same experience. It is just the nature of any hotel. A couple of guests mention their disappointment in a couple of upcharges. Others write about how the Rosewood Mansion is on par with other luxury hotels in the Dallas area. This Hotel has a great reputation and amazing reviews overall. Be sure to take some time to read over the reviews when booking.

History of the Rosewood Mansion in Dallas Tx

The Original Rosewood Mansion was built in 1908 by a man who made money in the cotton industry and then moved into oil, Sheppard W. King. It wasn’t long after, in the early ’20s, that a fire destroyed the Mansion, and a new Italian Renaissance Style Estate was built in its place. This amazing Manor in Dallas topped out at 10,000 square feet, which was extremely large during that time period. Many famous people stayed at the Rosewood, like President Franklin D. Roosevelt and even Tennessee Williams. In 1979 the home was purchased, and plans were in the works to turn it into a place where all guests could enjoy the opulence of the wealthy, even if it were only for a short while. Additions were made to give a more residential feel by completing a full 143 Guest Rooms and Suites. Throughout the Mansion, you can still see the original furniture and carvings, Hand Carved Fireplaces, Marble Floors, and Stained Glass Windows.
